Ekushey Boi Mela always starts on February 1. However, for the last two years, it has been starting late. The mela has also been ending earlier than before. This happened due to COVID. Bangla Academy has made an announcement. They said this year’s boi mela will start on February 1. They also added that this year’s mela will be special. There will be more than 800 book stalls this year, said Bangla Academy.

একুশে বইমেলা সবসময় শুরু হয় ১ ফেব্রুয়ারি। তবে, গত দুই বছর ধরে, এটি দেরিতে শুরু হয়েছে। মেলাও পূর্বের চেয়ে আগেই শেষ হচ্ছে। কোভিডের কারণে এটি ঘটেছে। বাংলা একাডেমি একটি ঘোষণা দিয়েছে।

This year, there will be 858 book stalls.

গত দুই বছরে কোভিডের কারণে একুশে বইমেলার সময় পরিবর্তন করা হয়েছে। এই সময়টা ছিল ভয় এবং বিলম্বের সঙ্গে মিশ্রিত। তবে বাংলা একাডেমি আশা করছে এই বছরের বইমেলা তার মূল সময়ে ফিরে আসবে। বিশেষ করে যেহেতু জীবন এখন স্বাভাবিক অবস্থায় ফিরে আসছে। বাংলা একাডেমি এবারের বইমেলা ১ ফেব্রুয়ারি থেকে রাখার সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়েছে। এটি গতানুগতিক তারিখ হিসেবে ব্যবহৃত হতো। তারা বলেন, এই বছরটি খুব অসাধারণ হবে।
২০২১ সালে, বইমেলা ১৮ মার্চ শুরু হয়েছিল এবং লকডাউনের কারণে তাড়াতাড়ি শেষ হয়েছিল। প্রধানমন্ত্রী শেখ হাসিনা নিজে উপস্থিত থাকবেন। তিনি এই বছরের বইমেলার উদ্বোধনী অনুষ্ঠান করবেন। এই বছর, ৮৫৮টি বইয়ের স্টল থাকবে।

Bangla Academy has decided to hold this year’s Boi Mela from February 1, the usual date. They sent a message to bookworms that this edition will be a special one for them. The 2022 edition was held between February 15 to March 28 with strict Covid-19 restrictions. The country was still coming off fresh from the enforced lockdown. In 2021, it started on March 18 and ended early due to a countrywide lockdown. Although the fair starts on February 1 every year, the tradition was first broken in 2020. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will be present in person and inaugurate this year’s book fair. As the event is knocking at the door, Bangla Academy and publishing houses are currently busy with last-minute preparations. গত দুই বছরে কোভিড-১৯ মহামারীর কারণে অমর একুশে বইমেলার সময়সূচি ব্যাহত হয়েছে। এই সময়টি ভয়, বিলম্ব এবং অনিশ্চয়তার দ্বারা ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত হয়েছিল। তবে বাংলা একাডেমি আশা করছে এবারের বইমেলা আবার আগের গৌরব ফিরে পাবে। বিশেষ করে জীবন এখন ছন্দে ফিরে আসছে। বাংলা একাডেমি এবারের বইমেলা গতানুগতিক তারিখ ১ ফেব্রুয়ারি থেকে রাখার সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়েছে। তারা বইপোকাদের একটি বার্তা পাঠিয়েছে যে এই সংস্করণটি তাদের জন্য একটি বিশেষ সংস্করণ হবে। ২০২২ সংস্করণটি ১৫ ফেব্রুয়ারি থেকে ২৮ মার্চের মধ্যে কঠোর কোভিড-১৯ বিধিনিষেধের সাথে অনুষ্ঠিত হয়েছিল।
