একটানা দুই দিন ধরে ঢাকার বায়ুর মান অস্বাস্থ্যকর। এই সপ্তাহের বৃহস্পতি ও শুক্রবার বাতাস ছিল খুবই অনিরাপদ। ঝুঁকিতে পড়ে ঢাকার মানুষ। ঢাকায় কয়েক বছর ধরে বায়ু দূষণের সমস্যা রয়েছে। শীতের মৌসুমে বায়ুর মান খারাপ হয়ে যায়। তবে, বৃষ্টির কারণে, এটি বর্ষাকালে উন্নত হয়।

Dhaka’s air quality has been unhealthy and unsafe for two days in a row. The air quality index (AQI) measures the health of the air in a city. Dhaka had 372 AQI on Friday. And the day before, the city’s AQI was 319. Therefore, Dhaka had the most polluted air in the world for two days straight. An AQI between 151 and 200 is said to be ‘unhealthy’. An AQI between 201 and 300 is ‘very unhealthy’. Lastly, an AQI between 301 to 400 is ‘hazardous‘, which was Dhaka’s air for two days. Dhaka has been fighting air pollution issues for years. The air quality turns unhealthy in the winter season. However, it improves during the monsoon, thanks to the rain.

একটানা দুই দিন ধরে ঢাকার বায়ুর মান অস্বাস্থ্যকর ও অনিরাপদ। এয়ার কোয়ালিটি ইনডেক্স (একিউআই) একটি শহরের বাতাসের স্বাস্থ্য পরিমাপ করে। শুক্রবার ঢাকায় ছিল ৩৭২ একিউআই। এবং আগের দিন, শহরের একিউআই ছিল ৩১৯। ফলে টানা দুই দিন বিশ্বের মধ্যে ঢাকায় সবচেয়ে দূষিত বায়ু ছিল।

With an air quality index (AQI) score of 372 at 8:50 am, Dhaka ranked first in the list of cities with the worst air. The day before, the city’s AQI score was 319, which is also in the ‘hazardous’ zone. An AQI between 151 and 200 is said to be ‘unhealthy’. An AQI between 201 and 300 is considered ‘very unhealthy’.
