Newborn babies in Bangladesh will now have ID numbers. This ID number will be special. With this number, they can get government services, and even buy SIM cards. Therefore they will not need any more ID numbers. The government took this decision because people nowadays have a lot of numbers. They can easily get confused. With this, a lot of problems will be solved.

বাংলাদেশে নবজাতক শিশুদের এখন আইডি নম্বর থাকবে। এই আইডি নম্বরটি বিশেষ হবে। এই নম্বরের মাধ্যমে, তারা সরকারি পরিষেবাগুলো পেতে পারবে, এমনকি সিম কার্ডও কিনতে পারবে। তাই তাদের আর কোনো আইডি নম্বর লাগবে না। আজকাল মানুষের সংখ্যা অনেক বেশি হওয়ায় সরকার এই সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়েছে। তারা সহজেই বিভ্রান্ত হতে পারে। এতে করে অনেক সমস্যার সমাধান হবে।

This ID number will be their number for life. The person will not need any other number. For example, they can buy new SIM cards with this number. They can also get many different government services with this ID number. This number will be fixed and will be given to people under the age of 18. These days people get a lot of numbers and they are very confusing. That is why the government took this decision. Newborn babies will carry this ID number with them for their entire life.

বাংলাদেশে নবজাতক শিশুদের বিষয়ে একটি নতুন নিয়ম শেয়ার করেছে সরকার। এটিকে জাতীয় পরিচয় আইন ২০২২ বলা হয়। এর মাধ্যমে নবজাতক বাংলাদেশি শিশুদের একটি স্বতন্ত্র নম্বর থাকবে। এই আইডি নম্বরটি সারাজীবন তাদের নম্বর থাকবে। ব্যক্তির অন্য কোনো নম্বর লাগবে না। উদাহরণস্বরূপ, তারা এই নম্বর দিয়ে নতুন সিম কার্ড কিনতে পারবে।
তারা এই আইডি নম্বর দিয়ে বিভিন্ন সরকারি পরিষেবাগুলোও পেতে পারবেন। এই নম্বরটি নির্দিষ্ট করা হবে এবং ১৮ বছরের কম বয়সী ব্যক্তিদের দেওয়া হবে। আজকাল লোকেরা প্রচুর নম্বর পায় এবং সেগুলো খুব বিভ্রান্তিকর। তাই সরকার এই সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়েছে। নবজাতক শিশুরা তাদের সারা জীবনের জন্য এই আইডি নম্বরটি তাদের সাথে বহন করবে।

The government approved a new draft concerning newborn babies in Bangladesh. It is called the National Identity Registration Act 2022. This will result in the issuing of a unique identity number to every newborn. This unique ID number will be his or her lifelong identity. A person will not require any other number. He or she will be identified with this number. And this number is unchangeable, said Secretary Mahbub Hossain while briefing the press. The unique number will be issued to every citizen under 18 years. The main purpose of this initiative is to avoid confusion. Presently, citizens obtain different numbers from different organizations creating confusion. The government wanted to resolve that with this act. From now on, every citizen will bear this unique number throughout their life. Various government services will be provided to him or her through this unique number. The decision came at a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. However, the time of implementation of the act will be fixed by the government. Usually, an act comes into effect after the gazette notification. But the date of the enforcement of this act will be fixed by the government, said the Secretary.

বাংলাদেশে নবজাতক শিশুদের বিষয়ে একটি নতুন খসড়া অনুমোদন করেছে সরকার। এটিকে জাতীয় পরিচয় নিবন্ধন আইন ২০২২ বলা হয়। এর ফলে প্রতিটি নবজাতকের জন্য একটি স্বতন্ত্র পরিচয় নম্বর প্রদান করা হবে। এই স্বতন্ত্র আইডি নম্বরটিই হবে তার আজীবনের পরিচয়। একজন ব্যক্তির অন্য কোন নম্বরের প্রয়োজন হবে না। এই নম্বর দিয়ে তাকে শনাক্ত করা হবে। এবং এই নম্বর অপরিবর্তনীয়, সাংবাদিকদের সম্মেলন কালে সচিব মাহবুব হোসেন জানান। ১৮ বছরের কম বয়সী প্রত্যেক নাগরিককে স্বতন্ত্র নম্বর দেওয়া হবে। বিভ্রান্তি এড়ানোই এই উদ্যোগের মূল উদ্দেশ্য। বর্তমানে, নাগরিকরা বিভিন্ন সংস্থার কাছ থেকে বিভিন্ন নম্বর পেয়ে বিভ্রান্তি তৈরি করে।
