Bangladesh is famous for making saree. Especially Muslin, Katan, and Benaroshi sarees. It will now be famous for a new type of saree. “Kolaboti saree” is made from the banana plant in Bandarban. Radhavati Devi made the first Kolaboti saree. She is a member of the Manipuri community. The first Kolaboti saree will be given to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina as a gift.

বাংলাদেশ শাড়ি তৈরির জন্য বিখ্যাত। বিশেষ করে মসলিন, কাতান, বেনারসি শাড়ি। এটি এখন নতুন ধরনের শাড়ির জন্য বিখ্যাত হবে। বান্দরবানের কলা গাছ থেকে তৈরি হয় “কলাবতী শাড়ি”। রাধাবতী দেবী প্রথম কোলাবতী শাড়ি তৈরি করেন। তিনি মণিপুরী সম্প্রদায়ের একজন সদস্য। প্রথম কলাবতী শাড়িটি প্রধানমন্ত্রী শেখ হাসিনাকে দেওয়া হবে উপহার হিসেবে।

Bangladesh is famous for many fabrics of cloth, especially Muslin, Katan, and Benaroshi. It will now be famous for a new fabric. “Kolaboti saree” is made from the banana plant in Bandarban. The inventor of this saree is Radhavati Devi, a member of the Manipuri community. The first Kolaboti saree will be given to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina as a gift. It takes around 10 to 15 days to prepare the saree. Around 1 kg of banana plant is used for it. They are trying to find a way to make the saree using only 500 to 700 grams of the banana plant. Sarees, curtains, bags, mats, shoes are also being made from banana fiber. Punjabis and fatuas will also be made.

বাংলাদেশ অনেক কাপড়ের বুননের জন্য বিখ্যাত, বিশেষ করে মসলিন, কাতান এবং বেনারসি। এটি এখন একটি নতুন বুননের জন্য বিখ্যাত হবে। বান্দরবানের কলা গাছ থেকে তৈরি হয় “কলাবতী শাড়ি”। এই শাড়ির উদ্ভাবক হলেন মণিপুরী সম্প্রদায়ের সদস্য রাধাবতী দেবী। প্রথম কলাবতী শাড়িটি প্রধানমন্ত্রী শেখ হাসিনাকে দেওয়া হবে উপহার হিসেবে।
শাড়িটি প্রস্তুত করতে প্রায় ১০ থেকে ১৫ দিন সময় লাগে। এর জন্য প্রায় ১ কেজি কলা গাছ ব্যবহার করা হয়। মাত্র ৫০০ থেকে ৭০০ গ্রাম কলা গাছ ব্যবহার করে শাড়ি তৈরির উপায় বের করার চেষ্টা করছেন তারা। শাড়ি, পর্দা, ব্যাগ, ম্যাট, জুতাও তৈরি হচ্ছে কলার আঁশ থেকে। পাঞ্জাবি ও ফতুয়াও বানানো হবে।

Bandarban’s Deputy Commissioner took the initiative for the project and named the saree after the weaver. It took around 10 to 15 days to prepare the saree, and around 1 kg of banana plant was used for it. Research is being conducted to find ways to smooth out the yarn so that a saree can be made using only 500 to 700 grams of the banana fiber. By producing the clothing material on a commercial basis, the indigenous people of hilly areas can come out of poverty. Not only sarees but curtains, bags, mats, shoes, handbags are also being made from banana fiber. Other kinds of clothing, such as punjabis or fatuas, will be made from this fiber. Additionally, these products will all be environment-friendly. This will also significantly help the indigenous people of rural Bangladesh.

বাংলাদেশ তার ঢাকা মসলিন, মিরপুর কাতান এবং বেনারসির জন্য বিখ্যাত। এটি তার উপকরণে একটি নতুন বুনন যুক্ত করেছে। বান্দরবানের কলা গাছের আঁশ থেকে তৈরি করা হয় “কলাবতী শাড়ি”। এই শাড়ির প্রধান কারিগর হলেন মণিপুরী সম্প্রদায়ের সদস্য রাধাবতী দেবী। প্রথম কলাবতী শাড়িটি প্রধানমন্ত্রী শেখ হাসিনাকে দেওয়া হবে উপহার হিসেবে। বান্দরবানের জেলা প্রশাসক এই প্রকল্পের উদ্যোগ নেন এবং শাড়িটির নামকরণ করেন তাঁতি। শাড়িটি তৈরি করতে প্রায় ১০ থেকে ১৫ দিন সময় লেগেছে এবং এর জন্য প্রায় ১ কেজি কলা গাছ ব্যবহার করা হয়েছিল।
