Gonitkonya is a team of four students. They took part in the Math Olympiad 2023. The team has won one silver medal and three bronze medals. Nujhat Ahmed won the silver medal. She will sit for her HSC in 2024. Afsana Akter, Arifa Alam, and Saniva Rakib won bronze medals. The team is full of students from schools and colleges.

গণিতকন্যা চার শিক্ষার্থীর একটি দল। তারা গণিত অলিম্পিয়াড ২০২৩ এ অংশ নিয়েছিল। দলটি একটি রৌপ্য পদক এবং তিনটি ব্রোঞ্জ পদক জিতেছে। নুজহাত আহমেদ রৌপ্য পদক জিতেছেন। তিনি ২০২৪ সালে তার এইচএসসির জন্য বসবেন। ব্রোঞ্জ পদক জিতেছেন আফসানা আক্তার, আরিফা আলম ও সানিভা রাকিব। দলটি স্কুল ও কলেজের শিক্ষার্থীতে পরিপূর্ণ।

Gonitkonya is a team made up of four students. They represented Bangladesh at the Girls’ Math Olympiad 2023. The team has won one silver medal and three bronze medals at the competition. Nujhat Ahmed won the biggest prize. She will sit for her HSC in 2024 from Viqarunnisa. She won the silver medal by fully solving five out of six problems. Afsana Akter from Holy Cross College won a bronze medal. The second one to claim a bronze medal was Arifa Alam. Saniva Rakib from Monipur High School won the final bronze medal. Afsana solved four out of six problems while Arifa and Saniva solved two problems. This year, the Bangladesh team won the 20th position, out of 55.

গণিতকন্যা চারজন শিক্ষার্থী নিয়ে গঠিত একটি দল। তারা মেয়েদের গণিত অলিম্পিয়াড ২০২৩ এ বাংলাদেশের প্রতিনিধিত্ব করেছে। দলটি প্রতিযোগিতায় একটি রৌপ্য পদক এবং তিনটি ব্রোঞ্জ পদক জিতেছে। সবচেয়ে বড় পুরস্কার জিতেছেন নুজহাত আহমেদ। তিনি ভিকারুননিসা থেকে ২০২৪ সালে তার এইচএসসিতে বসবেন। ছয়টি সমস্যার মধ্যে পাঁচটি সম্পূর্ণ সমাধান করে তিনি রৌপ্য পদক জিতেছেন। হলি ক্রস কলেজের আফসানা আক্তার একটি ব্রোঞ্জ পদক জিতেছেন।

Gonitkonya represented Bangladesh at the European Girls’ Mathematical Olympiad 2023. The team has won one silver medal and three bronze medals at the competition. Nujhat Ahmed Disha was the front-runner in the winners list. She is a student set to sit for her HSC in 2024 from Viqarunnisa Noon School & College. She won the silver medal by fully solving five out of six problems. Afsana Akter was one of the three bronze medal winners. She hails from Holy Cross College. The second one to claim a bronze medal was Arifa Alam, from St. Francis Xavier’s Girls’ School & College. Lastly, Saniva Rakib Soha from Monipur High School And College won the final bronze medal. Afsana partially solved four out of six problems while Arifa and Saniva both fully solved two problems and partially solved one problem. Not to be dismayed by these numbers, as they only show half the picture. Even two out of six problems is a lot, considering the age of these contestants. Not to mention how difficult these math problems tend to be. Therefore these girls have a lot to be proud of. This year, the Bangladesh team scored a total of 92 points and ranked 20th among the 55 participating countries.

ইউরোপিয়ান গার্লস ম্যাথমেটিক্যাল অলিম্পিয়াড ২০২৩ এ বাংলাদেশের প্রতিনিধিত্ব করেছেন গণিতকন্যা। দলটি প্রতিযোগিতায় একটি রৌপ্য পদক এবং তিনটি ব্রোঞ্জ পদক জিতেছে। বিজয়ীদের তালিকায় সামনের দৌড়বিদ ছিলেন নুজহাত আহমেদ দিশা। তিনি ভিকারুননিসা নূন স্কুল অ্যান্ড কলেজ থেকে ২০২৪ সালে তার এইচএসসিতে বসতে প্রস্তুত একজন ছাত্রী। ছয়টি সমস্যার মধ্যে পাঁচটি সম্পূর্ণ সমাধান করে তিনি রৌপ্য পদক জিতেছেন। আফসানা আক্তার ছিলেন তিনজন ব্রোঞ্জ পদক বিজয়ীর একজন। সে হলি ক্রস কলেজ থেকে এসেছে। সেন্ট ফ্রান্সিস জেভিয়ার্স গার্লস স্কুল অ্যান্ড কলেজের আরিফা আলম ছিলেন ব্রোঞ্জ পদক দাবি করা দ্বিতীয়জন।
সর্বশেষ ব্রোঞ্জ পদক জিতেছেন মনিপুর হাই স্কুল অ্যান্ড কলেজের সানিভা রাকিব সোহা। আফসানা ছয়টি সমস্যার মধ্যে চারটি সমস্যার আংশিক সমাধান করেছে, আরিফা ও সানিভা দুজনেই দুটি সমস্যার সম্পূর্ণ সমাধান করেছে এবং একটি সমস্যার আংশিক সমাধান করেছে। এই সংখ্যাগুলি দেখে হতাশ হবেন না, কারণ সেগুলো কেবল অর্ধেক ছবি দেখায়। এমনকি এই প্রতিযোগীদের বয়স বিবেচনা করে ছয়টির মধ্যে দুটি সমস্যা অনেক বেশি। এই গণিত সমস্যাগুলো কতটা কঠিন হতে পারে তা উল্লেখ করার মতো নয়। তাই এই মেয়েদের গর্ব করার অনেক কিছু আছে। এই বছর, বাংলাদেশ দল মোট ৯২ পয়েন্ট অর্জন করেছে এবং ৫৫টি অংশগ্রহণকারী দেশগুলোর মধ্যে ২০ তম স্থান পেয়েছে।
