“বোরড টানেলারস” দলের নেতা মোহাম্মদ শিথিল। তার যাত্রা শুরু হয় ২০২৩ সালে তার বন্ধু শাহরিয়ার মাহিমের সাথে। এরপর থেকে দুইজনের দল বিশজনের দলে পরিণত হয়েছে। শুধু তাই নয়, তাদের এখন আটটি ভিন্ন বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের সদস্য রয়েছে। তারা প্রতি বছর ‘নট-আ-বোরিং প্রতিযোগিতায়’ অংশ নেয়। ইলন মাস্ক এই প্রতিযোগিতার আয়োজন করেন।

Mohammad Shithil is the leader of team “Bored Tunnelers”. His journey began in 2023 with his friend Shahriar Mahim. Since then, the team of two has become a team of twenty. “বোরড টানেলারস” দলের নেতা মোহাম্মদ শিথিল। তারা প্রতি বছর ‘নট-আ-বোরিং প্রতিযোগিতায়’ অংশ নেয়। ইলন মাস্ক এই প্রতিযোগিতার আয়োজন করেন। শিথিলের যাত্রা শুরু হয় ২০২৩ সালে। তার বন্ধু শাহরিয়ার মাহিম তাকে প্রতিযোগিতার সাথে পরিচয় করিয়ে দেন। এরপর থেকে, দুই সদস্যের দলটি বিশ জনের একটি দলে পরিণত হয়েছে। শুধু তাই নয়, তাদের এখন আটটি ভিন্ন বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের সদস্য রয়েছে। এর মধ্যে কয়েকটি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় হল বুয়েট, রুয়েট এবং ব্র্যাক। যে দলগুলো প্রতিযোগিতায় অংশ নেয় তাদের একটা কাজ থাকে। তাদের একটি টানেল খোঁড়ার জন্য সৃজনশীল উপায় বের করতে হয়। ‘বোরিং’ বা ‘বোর’ মানে টানেল খোঁড়া। প্রতি বছর সারা বিশ্ব থেকে প্রায় ৪০০টি দল অংশ নেয়। মাত্র ১০ থেকে ১২টি দল ফাইনালে উঠতে পারে।

Mohammad Shithil is the leader of team “Bored Tunnelers”. They take part in the ‘Not-a-Boring Competition’ every year. Elon Musk hosts this competition. Shithil’s journey started in 2023. His friend Shahriar Mahim introduced him to the competition. Since then, the team of two members has grown to a team of twenty. Not only that, they now have members from eight different universities.
Some of these universities are BUET, RUET and BRAC. Teams that take part in the competition have one task. They have to invent creative ways to dig a tunnel. ‘Boring’ or ‘bore’ also means to dig a tunnel. Every year around 400 teams across the globe take part. Only 10 to 12 teams make it to the finals.

মোহাম্মদ শিথিল “বোরড টানেলারস” এর দলনেতা। এই যাত্রা শুরু হয়েছিল ২০২৩ সালে, যখন শিথিলের বন্ধু শাহরিয়ার মাহিম তাকে ‘নট-আ-বোরিং প্রতিযোগিতা’ এর সাথে পরিচয় করিয়ে দেন। এরপর থেকে, দুই সদস্যের দলটি বিশজনের দলে পরিণত হয়েছে। শুধু তাই নয়, এমনকি আটটি সম্মানিত ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিং স্কুলের ছাত্রদের সমন্বয়ে তারা একটি আন্তঃপ্রাতিষ্ঠানিক দলে বিকশিত হয়েছে। এই বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়গুলোর মধ্যে রয়েছে বুয়েট, রুয়েট, এমআইএসটি, সাস্ট, ব্র্যাক, আইইউবি এবং আরো অনেক। প্রতিযোগিতাটি প্রতি বছর ইলন মাস্কের “দ্য বোরিং কোম্পানি” দ্বারা আয়োজিত হয়। এটি উদ্ভাবনী টানেলিং সমাধান পরিকল্পনার জন্য অনুসন্ধানী মনকে চ্যালেঞ্জ করে। মাস্ক টানেল খোঁড়াকে বোঝানোর জন্য কৌশলে “বোরিং” শব্দটি তৈরি করেছেন। এভাবে একটি কৌতুকপূর্ণ বাঁকে অনুপ্রাণিত করা যা অন্যথায় একটি সম্পূর্ণ প্রযুক্তিগত চ্যালেঞ্জ হিসাবে দেখা যেতে পারে। প্রতি বছর সারা বিশ্বে প্রায় ৪০০টি দল তাদের মাইক্রোটানেল বোরিং মেশিন (এমটিবিএম) ডিজাইনগুলো পাঠায়। তাদের মধ্যে, মাত্র ১০ থেকে ১২টি দলই ফাইনালের লড়াইয়ে টিকে থাকে। বাংলাদেশী দল বোরড টানেলারস, এ বছর ফাইনালে উঠেছে। দক্ষিণ এশিয়ার প্রথম দল তারাই এমনটা করেছে। দল খুব উচ্চ এবং দক্ষ পর্যায়ে কাজকর্ম করে। দলের মধ্যেই উপ-দলগুলো গঠিত হয়। সদস্যরা তাদের দক্ষতার ক্ষেত্র অনুযায়ী উপ-দলে কাজ করে। এটি দলকে আন্তর্জাতিক মঞ্চে তাদের সুবিধা দেয়।

Mohammad Shithil is the team leader of “Bored Tunnelers”. This journey started in 2023, when Shithil’s friend Shahriar Mahim introduced him to the ‘Not-a-Boring Competition’. Since then, the team of two members has grown to a team of twenty. Not only that, they have even evolved into a cross-institutional team, comprising students from eight esteemed engineering schools. These universities include BUET, RUET, MIST, SUST, BRAC, IUB, and so on. The competition is hosted annually by Elon Musk’s “The Boring Company”. It challenges inquisitive minds to devise innovative tunneling solutions. Musk cleverly coined the term “boring” to refer to tunnel digging.
Thus infusing a playful twist into what might otherwise be viewed as a purely technical challenge. Every year around 400 teams across the globe send their microtunnel boring machine (MTBM) designs. Among them, only 10 to 12 teams survive the battle to the finals. The Bangladeshi team Bored Tunnelers, this year, made it to the finals. They are the first ever South Asian team to do so. The team functions at a very high and efficient level. Sub-teams are formed within the team. Members work in sub-teams according to their area of expertise. This gives the team their advantage in the international stage.
