A guardian challenged this, and now schools will remain closed for the whole month.

They passed the order for a petition seeking closure of school activities during Ramadan. Following the order, the academic activities of primary and secondary schools will remain closed during the month of Ramadan.
On 8 February, the government amended the holiday list for educational institutions. They kept regular activities of both secondary and primary schools open during the month of Ramadan. Advocate Ilias Ali, a guardian, filed a writ petition on 25 February, challenging the two orders of the government. Thanks to his valiant efforts, schools all throughout the country will remain closed for the holy month of Ramadan. Additionally, private and public universities may also follow suit. Most private universities are expected to shift to online classes after the first 10-15 days of Ramadan.
