Team Bored Tunnelers from Bangladesh reached top three in “Not-a-Boring Competition this year. This competition is hosted by Elon Musk every year. They have also won the “Rookie Award. The team was started by two members, Shithil and Shahriar. From there, the team of two grew to a team of twenty. The team now has members from BUET, RUET, and BRAC University.

বাংলাদেশের দল বোরড টানেলার এই বছর “নট-আ-বোরিং প্রতিযোগিতায়” শীর্ষ তিনে পৌঁছেছে। প্রতি বছর ইলন মাস্ক এই প্রতিযোগিতার আয়োজন করেন। তারা “রুকি পুরস্কার” ও জিতেছে। শিথিল ও শাহরিয়ার নামের দুই সদস্যের দ্বারা শুরু হয়েছিলো দলটি। সেখান থেকে দুইজনের দল বেড়ে বিশজনের দলে পরিণত হয়েছে। দলটিতে এখন বুয়েট, রুয়েট এবং ব্র্যাক বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের সদস্য রয়েছে।

Team Bored Tunnelers from Bangladesh became the first ever Asian team to rank in the top three in Elon Musk’s “Not-a-Boring Competition” this year. Additionally, they have also won the “Rookie Award”. The team was initially started by two visionaries, Mohammad Shithil and Shahriar Iqbal. From there, the team of two grew to become a team of twenty. They brought together more members along the way to form a cross-institutional team of students. They have members from BUET, RUET, MIST, and BRAC University among others. The team successfully made it through two online rounds involving the technical documentation, design, simulation, and testing submissions. Then they flew to the Boring Company Headquarters in Texas for the competition finals. Day one of the finals involved a presentation which carried details of the team’s preparedness to go down the field and test their rig. On the second day, the team received a tour of the facilities inside The Boring Company. Day three was a lot more exciting. It was the field test day. It started with the team doing a thorough safety check on their systems. The score for teams was calculated based on the time needed to complete the tunnel.

বাংলাদেশের দল বোরড টানেলার এ বছর এলন মাস্কের “নট-আ-বোরিং প্রতিযোগিতায়” শীর্ষ তিনে পৌঁছেছে। তারা “রুকি পুরস্কার” ও জিতেছে। শিথিল ও শাহরিয়ার নামের দুই সদস্যের দ্বারা প্রাথমিকভাবে দলটি শুরু হয়েছিল। সেখান থেকে দুইজনের দল বেড়ে বিশজনের দলে পরিণত হয়েছে। তারা পথিমধ্যে আরও সদস্যদের একত্রিত করেছে। দলটি এখন শিক্ষার্থীদের একটি ‘আন্তঃপ্রাতিষ্ঠানিক’ দলে পরিণত হয়েছে।

These first two rounds included design and testing of their robot. Then they flew to the Boring Company Headquarters for the competition finals. However, the team ended in third place. Still, that is a huge achievement for a team of such youngsters.
